Ingredients

700 grams pizza dough, raw

Flour, for sprinkling your work surface

6 cups water

ā…“ cup baking soda

Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling the pretzels

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

Place the pizza dough on a floured surface and divide it into four equal sections.

Step 3

Roll each section into ropes about one inch thick. Cut each rope into nuggets, one inch wide.

Step 4

Combine the water and baking soda in a large pot and bring to a rolling boil.

Step 5

Boil the dough bites in small batches (5 to 6 at a time) for one minute and remove with a slotted spoon. It's very important to avoid boiling the bites for too long because they'll take on too much of the baking soda flavour - not tasty!

Step 6

Place the bites on the prepared baking sheet at least 1 inch apart. Sprinkle each bite with a pinch of the coarse sea salt and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 7

Allow to cool for at least 5 minutes and serve warm with beer cheese dip. Enjoy!
